MANCHESTER UNITED have been told that it will take a “huge bid” in order to sign Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move to sign the Cameroon striker to provide competition to Rasmus Hojlund.

Choupo-Moting, 34, is currently playing back-up to Harry Kane and Mathys Tel at Bayern Munich.

The former Stoke City striker has made 16 appearances in the Bundesliga, scoring two goals.

He signed a one-year contract extension with German giants last summer, running until June this year.

Despite being in the last six months of his contract, Bayern are keen to keep hold of the striker.

Sky Germany have claimed that Bayern want him to stay due to there already being a thin squad.

However, the report has added that should a big offer come in for the veteran, then they could be tempted to sell.

It is also suggested that Choupo-Moting is expected to leave the club in the summer for nothing.

Man United would face competition for his signature as clubs from Saudi Arabia and Qatar have also made enquiries.

Choupo-Moting joined Bayern in 2020 after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.

He has scored 19 goals in 77 Bundesliga appearances for the club.

The striker joined on a free transfer PSG following Stoke City’s relegation from the Premier League in 2018.

He only managed to score five goals in 30 Premier League appearances for the Potters.
