Erik ten Hag‘s squad won 4-3 when his side came face to face to the Reds but on Thursday night the Red Devils found themselves on the wrong end of a seven-goal scoreline against Chelsea.

Flashback to three weeks ago to when Amad Diallo caused mayhem at Old Trafford with a last minute winner to send the Red Devils in the FA Cup semi-final.

This denied Klopp the chance to win another four medals before the German boss leaves at the end of the season.

However United had a taste of their own medicine at Stamford Bridge where they looked to secure a 3-2 victory.

But Chelsea’s Cole Palmer had other ideas scoring his second penalty in injury time and then just 82 seconds later went on to precede a 101st minute clincher – the latest winning goal on record in the Premier League.

While Mauricio Pochettino‘s side celebrated Ten hag’s had their heads in their hands wondering where it all went wrong.

Now the Dutchman has just eight games left in the Premier League this season to salvage his career at Old Trafford.

Lisandro Martinez has faced another injury setback and will be out for at least a month and the same goes for Victor Lindelof.

Liverpool are still in an injury crisis with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota and Alisson Becker out.

While Curtis Jones and Andy Robertson made it back on the team sheet for Thursday nights clash against Sheffield United.

What is their form like?

United are currently sixth and are nine points behind Tottenham and have an 11-point deficit to make up to Aston Villa with a game in hand.

With just one win in their last five games United will need to deliver on Sundays to make up to fans who trekked all the way to West London midweek.

Despite FA Cup misery Liverpool are still the frontrunners in the league after their triumph over Sheffield United.

An entertaining goal from Darwin Nunez was cancelled out by Conor Bradley‘s own goal but Alexis Mac Allister‘s regained the lead for the Reds with Cody Gakpo to seal off the win for the Reds.

Six of Liverpool’s last seven Premier League games on rival turf have ended in victory.

Ones to watch

Ignoring their defeat to the Blues Man Utd wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho was on terrific form for the Red Devils on Thursday.

And the 19-year-old winger has been a Prem stand-out this season.

In 40 appearances across all competitions he has scored nine goals and provided four assists – and he will certainly be looking to add to that tally on Saturday.

And Liverpool’s star man Alexis Mac Allister is not slowing down anytime soon.

Sticking it in the top corner for the Reds to secure the three points against Sheffield United the Argentine has become one of Klopp’s key men this season.

Minus the chunk of games he missed in December due to a knee injury the midfielder has scored six goals and provided seven assists across all competitions this season.

What has been said?

After Thursday nights victory Klopp said: “Our general game until I think we made the changes was not great. That’s what we have to admit.”

“It’s tricky, we had such a low block [from Sheffield United] but you have to do better.

“I’m really pleased for Cody [Gakpo] who came on and was incredibly good on the ball, scored a wonderful goal. Robbo [Andy Robertson] good, Harvey [Elliott] good, Curtis [Jones] good.

“They were really helpful and that’s how it is; you have to change games from the bench when needed and so I’m really happy with that.”

Despite their defeat Ten Hag back his team after the Chelsea game and said: “We showed that we ranked fourth [best] for goals conceded before tonight, and everyone is talking to each other [about the shots] after.

“We are good, and we have good defending as a team and a good goalkeeper so I cannot do nothing.”
