MARCUS RASHFORD will be available for Manchester United’s potential Champions League crunch clash with Bayern Munich after escaping with the minimum ban for his Copenhagen red card.

England ace Rashford was stunned to be shown a red card after a VAR intervention that transformed United’s night in Denmark.

Erik ten Hag’s side were two up and on cruise control when Rashford was sent off on VAR advice after catching Elias Jelert above the ankle as he attempted to shield the ball.

The dismissal sparked a collapse as United lost 4-3 late-on to fell to bottom of their Champions League group.

Rashford was always going to miss next week’s trip to the “Hell” of Galatasary’s Ali Sami Yen stadium as that is the automatic punishment.

But despite Rashford being dismissed for violent conduct – a three-match ban in the Prem – Uefa’s disciplinary committee settled for a single game suspension, adjudging he was only guilty of “rough play”.

It means Rashford will be available to the Dutch manager when Harry Kane and Co arrive at Old Trafford for the likely decisive game next month.

The Red Devils are currently bottom of group A ahead of their trip to Turkey after losing three of their first four matches.

A home victory over Copenhagen remains their only points to date but a win next week could lift them to second in the group.

That would then set up a crunch match with the German champions in December on the final matchday.

United are aiming to avoid a first group stage exit since the 2020/21 season, when they finished third behind Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig.

A third place finish would see Ten Hag’s side drop into the Europa League play-off round, whilst fourth would mean an exit from Europe entirely.
