Sharapova, 37, retired from playing in 2020, having won 36 career titles, including Wimbledon in 2004.

But during the semi-final clash, she was spotted by cameras in the stands.

The style icon was wearing a glamorous pale yellow suit with a fashionable cut down the back.

Sharapova did not look full of delight at watching the tennis and appeared to be close to tears.

Some fans still hailed her as beautiful on social media, while others were concerned that she was upset.

One posted: “She’s the star.”

A second wrote: “She’s is just amazing.”

A third commented: “She looks worried.”
