The Welsh Potting Machine beat O’Sullivan 10-5 in Manchester on Sunday.

He reeled off seven frames in a row during the evening session to complete a stunning turnaround.

Williams’ comeback included two century breaks, the highest seeing him make 112.

After returning home at 3.39am, Williams wrote on X: “That was a long drive home. Just got in. What a day, what a game, privilege to share final with the greatest player ever #wasplayinglastweek.”

However, less than 12 hours later he was back on the table as he shared a selfie from practice.

The Welshman posed for a selfie at the table with Jackson Page, writing: “1, 2 and 3 done and dusted, now to dust the world number 43.”

Williams scooped £150,000 by winning the Tour Championship, the final event before this month’s World Championship.

His victory means he will head to the Crucible as the sixth seed, with the tournament getting underway on April 20.

“He played like God for four frames and I was glad the interval came because there was no stopping him.”
