CHELSEA players face a battle to get back into Mauricio Pochettino’s good books after being demolished by Newcastle last Saturday.

The Blues put in a poor performance and were hammered 4-1 away at the Toon.

Pochettino ranted post-match and called the defeat the “worst game of the season”.

He added: “These games make me very, very, very, very angry. We have to show personality and character. We cannot play this type of football.”

Pochettino also hinted at axing the players’ day off on Sunday but in the end they were allowed a break.

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton believes despite them getting away without punishment, the squad have plenty to do as they try to make amends for last weekend’s horror show against Brighton.

They welcome the Seagulls to Stamford Bridge tomorrow.

Sutton, who scored just three goals in 39 games for Chelsea, believes Pochettino is being “let down” by his team.

The pundit said: “I think it’s a trust thing. They have had bad moments and lack consistency.

“It’ll be interesting how this whole situation pans out now because he lost the plot.
