Michael Olise transfer news – latest odds: Chelsea just edging Manchester City in two-horse race for Crystal Palace star

THERE looks to be quite the transfer tussle unfolding for Crystal Palace star Michael Olise.

And Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are just ahead in the two-horse race for his signature.

Sky Bet have them narrowly ahead (6/4) of rivals Manchester City (9/4), with both clubs reportedly keen for his services.

Olise is the subject of a reported £39million bid from Chelsea – £4million more than his Palace release clause.

It’s thought that increase in fee is an attempt to steal a march on City, who are also credited with an interest in the 21-year-old France youth international.

At that price, it’s currently unsure if Palace would even consider coming to the table, given Olise’s attacking numbers last year and the fact they’re losing Wilfried Zaha this summer, too.

Only Kevin de Bruyne, Leandro Trossard and Mo Salah registered more assists than Olise in the Premier League last season.

And he became the first Palace player in the Premier League to register ten assists in one seasons, while becoming the youngest to hit three assists in the one game.

Added to that the fact he still has three years on his current Selhurst Park deal, it could prove tough negotiations.

But he’s understood to be fascinated by the Pochettino project that is building and that could prove a key factor.

City are on the hunt for a Riyad Mahrez replacement, following his move to Saudi Arabia recently.
