MIKEL ARTETA needs to get his squad firing again after a dismal run of form for the Gunners.

And it would seem his plan is to allow his players to recharge with some time in the sun with their loved ones.

Arsenal have lost their last three games on the bounce and with just one win in their last seven they have seen themselves slip from top of the table down to fourth.

And with their next game not coming until January 20 the players and staff are jetting off to Dubai for some warm weather training.

Arteta will be hoping that the camp will offer his players a chance to refresh away from the pressure of mounting a title charge for a second consecutive season.

And in the hopes of allowing them to relax completely the Spanish gaffer has invited the players’ family to join them in the Middle East.

The Daily Mail have reported that the camp will see the players take part in a scaled back training regime to prepare them for the intensity of the second half of the season.

The squad, who fly out on Tuesday, are expected to spend six days in Dubai before heading back to the UK to return to their normal training regime at London Colney.

Players who are injured including Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey are also expected to make the trip despite their current fitness status.

But it might take more than just a spot of training and a recharge of the batteries for Arsenal to kick on in the remainder of the campaign.

The hope is that players can relax and recharge with their loved ones before the second half of the season

The Gunners have to sharpen up in front of goal after scoring just one goal in their last three game despite taking a whopping 61 shots in that time.

And it doesn’t look like they can fix that by signing a new centre-forward after Arteta admitted it “doesn’t look realistic” that a bagsman would be arriving at the Emirates Stadium this month.

There’s only two competitions for Arsenal to focus on going forward after they crashed out of the FA Cup to Liverpool on Sunday after exiting the Carabao Cup earlier in the season at the hands of West Ham.

They can now shift their full attention on competing in the league and trying to progress through the rounds in the Champions League.

The Emirates outfit face Porto in the last 16 of the European competition and will play the first leg away in Portugal on February 21.
