MEXICAN diver Aranza Vazquez’s Olympic dream turned into a nightmare with a disastrous score of 0.0.
The 21-year-old was seventh after her third dive but landed flat on her back with the next effort.

But her scoreless fourth dive ruled her out of contention in Paris.
Vazquez raised her hand after getting out of the water in a signal to the judges.
The Mexican was seen speaking to officials, believing that she was distracted.
But reports said that her appeal was turned down.
There was plenty of sympathy on social media for the gutted athlete, who was seen crying while being consoled by the pool.
One posted: “What happened to Aranza Vazquez in the 3M Springboard Semifinal?
“And why did the judges refuse to let her repeat the dive?

Yesterday, American hopeful Alison Gibson was awarded a score of 0.0 after her feet hit the board during her routine at the Olympic Games.
The USA athlete competed in the 3m springboard preliminaries as she looked to book her place in today’s semi-finals.
She ended up finishing last out of the 28 participants with a score of 198.30.
Her fate was all but sealed on the very first of her five dives when she failed to score any points after colliding with the board.
