Earlier, it emerged that police had arrested him yesterday for the third time this year over alleged stalking offences and breaching bail terms.

The full-back arrived at the Borders court around lunchtime.

He stepped out of a GEOAmey prison van with his right hand handcuffed to a guard.

The rugby union star bowed his head as he walked briskly past the waiting media.

He bowed his head as he made his way into the court building wearing a white sweatshirt, navy chino-style trousers and trainers.

Hogg was previously nicked in February and July.

In May, he appeared in the dock where he denied abusing and stalking his estranged wife Gillian, 37, over a seven-year period.

Hogg is accused of monitoring her communications and controlling her family life.

He is also charged under section one of the Domestic Abuse Scotland Act.

Hogg is accused of engaging in a course of behaviour which was “abusive”.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with stalking offences and breach of bail conditions.

“He is due to appear before Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 10 September, 2024, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
