Ricardo plays in the Southern Combination Premier League for Roffey FC where he’s captained his team into first place in the table.

But alongside his time on the pitch the 34-year-old also works for the NHS.

And Ricardo explained that despite the huge gap between him and his brother in terms of their football today, it was him that most thought would make it to the top.

Speaking to FourFourTwo, he explained: “We’ve got different lives. Bruno’s a professional footballer and I work for the NHS,

“When I was young, my friends and close family probably thought I was the brother who was going to make it, but I didn’t and he did.”

Ricardo is five years older than Bruno who has represented his country Portugal 63 times and also wears the captain’s armband for Manchester United.

And his brother’s impressive career means he often has people asking him questions when he comes face to face with them on the pitch on a weekend.

But Ricardo explained that he doesn’t mind the attention and is proud of what Bruno has achieved in the game.

He said: “I don’t mind people coming up to me and speaking about my brother.

“I’m glad Bruno is known around the world. Manchester United was a big step for him.”

Both Bruno and Ricardo play in midfield for their respective clubs and as well as having a similar play-style they bare a remarkable resemblance.

Roffey FC will play East Preston this weekend as they bid to remain top of the table, while Bruno’s Man Utd face a the tough task of a trip to take on Aston Villa.
