NAPOLI will attempt to sign TWO Premier League defenders in the January transfer window, according to reports.

The Serie A champions were in pursuit of Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin, 21, as they looked to bolster their back line after a difficult start to the season.

But, alongside Bayern Munich, they appear to have missed out on the Romanian as he is set to join Tottenham in a deal worth £25.8million.

Now Napoli have turned their attentions across London to players at Arsenal and Chelsea.

According to Repubblica, Arsenal man Jakub Kiwior and Chelsea star Malang Sarr are on the Italian giants’ radar.

Kiwior, 23, has started just four Premier League games for the Gunners so far this season.

He has found it difficult to dislodge Gabriel and William Saliba – who have formed a formidable partnership for the North London outfit.

And while Mikel Arteta‘s men have not yet shown a desire to send Kiwior out on loan, Napoli are hoping they can convince them to let him leave until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Sarr, 24, has been left out in the cold at Stamford Bridge since the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino.

He made 21 appearances for the Blues during the 2021/22 campaign, before being loaned out to Monaco last season.

After returning to West London in the summer, he has not featured at all for Chelsea.

Napoli are also being linked with a move for Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

A deal would be worth more than £20million, but Atletico Madrid are also interested in the Danish star.

Napoli are already all but out of the running to defend their Serie A crown as they sit ninth in the table, 20 points adrift of leaders Inter Milan.

But they have made it into the Champions League knockout stages after finishing second in their group behind Real Madrid.

They will take on Barcelona for a place in the quarter-finals.
