ABERDEEN are eyeing a deal for free agent Junior Hoilett.
The Canada winger is available after leaving MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps.
Hoilett, 33, previously worked with Dons boss Neil Warnock at QPR and Cardiff City.
And the experienced wideman could now pen a Pittodrie deal until the end of the season.
Aberdeen were keen to add more depth in that area even before Warnock’s arrival.
Hoilett is a long-standing favourite of the Dons boss and they are poised to be reunited.
He has 62 Canada caps and also played for Blackburn Rovers and Reading in a long career in English football.
Hoilett was linked with a move to re-join Warnock at Huddersfield earlier this season but that move failed to materialise.
That was despite the winger training with the Terriers.
But he could now link-up with his former boss once again at Pittodrie.

Back in September, Warnock said: “We are alright in that position.
“I let Junior come up and train for a week just to give him a bit of fitness.
“But when you look at what we have in wide areas right and left, I think we are more than comfortable there. That’s not the area that we wanted to bring a player in.
“I wouldn’t do anything on sympathy or favouritism. He did look sharp, if I am honest, and I’m sure Junior will get a club now that the window is closed.
“Some of these lads will definitely get snapped up but I don’t think that’s our priority.”
Warnock’s Dons fought back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with Motherwell this week.
And after the game, the 75-year old tore into VAR, likening the system to Horizon, the computer system at the centre of the Post Office scandal.
Bojan Miovski had a strike ruled out on-field – a decision subsequently confirmed by VAR – but it looked a tight call.
Warnock said: “There’s never a dull moment! You can’t tell me that’s offside. I’ve seen the lines.
“I don’t believe it’s offside, me. I don’t know how they do it, me. At half-time I was constructive. It’s a good word that! It was a mixture!
“The fans were brilliant at 3-0 down. They did well to stick with us and to get that goal back gave them a lift, the second set us up for the second half.
“Duk was an inch away from his hat-trick and VAR? I just don’t believe it, me. The referee said VAR is all about the computer. I think it’s the Horizon computer!”
