THE last two winners of the Rugby World Cup square off in a mouthwatering final as holders South Africa take on 2011 and 2015 victors New Zealand.

The Springboks beat England in the showpiece four years ago in Japan and are out to repeat the feat in France.

They go into the clash after getting one over the Red Rose again, narrowly edging the semi-final 16-15 right at the death.

And in the previous round, the South Africans also won by one point against France.

The All Blacks have had a simpler route to the final and have navigated it with relative ease after losing the tournament opener to Les Bleus.

New Zealand were able to stroll confidently past Argentina in the last four, thrashing them 44-6.

And the win came after sending Ireland home in the quarter-final.

This weekend’s encounter at the Stade de France is a rematch of the epic 1995 Rugby World Cup final, in which the Springboks claimed the trophy on home soil.

And the Springboks will be hoping to claim back-to-back titles and match their opponents achievements in 2011 and 2015.

Either skippers Sam Cane and Siya Kolisi will lift the Webb Ellis Cup.

Team News

New Zealand:

Coach Ian Foster will supposedly bulk up his bench to deal with South Africa’s ‘Bomb Squad‘.

To deal with the late Springbok charge, hooker Samisoni Taukei’aho and prop Nepo Laulala could be brought on to add size and strength to the scrum.

Meanwhile, there are rumours that Richie Mo’unga might have suffered an injury blow that could keep him out the final.

Damian McKenzie could come in at No10 in his place.

South Africa:

Bongi Mbonambi will start after being cleared of racism following allegations made in the semi-final by England’s Tom Curry.

Faf de Klerk and Handre Pollard will also return to the starting line-up.

The duo both featured in the 2019 final with the latter kicking 22 points en route to his side winning the Webb Ellis Cup for the third time.

Star Man

Will Jordan – All Blacks

Jordan has the most tries this tournament with eight. His speed could be key in unlocking a South African defence that don’t concede too many penalties.
