Newcastle 1 Brighton 2: Danny Welbeck scores stunning extra-time winner in FA Cup thriller with TWO stars sent off

DANNY WELBECK broke Newcastle hearts by scoring a dramatic 112th minute winner to dump the Toon out of the FA Cup.

Alexander Isak had given the home side a 22nd minute lead from the penalty spot, before Toon old boy Yankuba Minteh levelled for Brighton on the stroke of half-time.

A moment of madness saw Anthony Gordon sent off for recklessly striking out at Jan Paul van Hecke on 83 minutes… a red card that will see him miss the upcoming Carabao Cup final.

The sides were evened up in stoppage time, with Tariq Lamptey receiving a second yellow card for a late challenge on Jacob Murphy.

Fabian Schar thought he’d won it just moments later, only to be denied by the flag- with the match subsequently going to extra time.
