PREMIER LEAGUE chiefs are gearing up for a spiky meeting of club bosses next week.

Clubs will be asked to vote through new rules banning loans from “related parties”.

Al-Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves is in demand but any move could depend on the outcome of a huge debate in the Pem about a rule change[/caption]

That would outlaw Newcastle taking stars such as Ruben Neves from the four Saudi Pro League clubs owned by the Gulf state’s Public Investment Fund.

That is likely to bring a strong debate, with the Toon hoping to get Sheffield United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Brighton on their side.

Clubs will also be asked to confirm the new deal which will see up to a further £500million per year of broadcast income going to the EFL.

Many lower top-flight outfits believe that the offer is too generous.

They want strict conditions to prevent the extra cash being splashed on transfers and wages.

But Newcastle won’t have it all their own way on the transfer front if they do remain free to pursue Neves.

Arsenal and Tottenham are also tipped to show interest in the Al-Hilal midfielder.

Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta and the club’s sporting director Edu are both long-term admirers of the former Porto hero.

The Portugal star, 26, has also been previously linked with Manchester United.

Neves is understood to be open to a swift Prem return despite only switching from Wolves to Saudi Arabia in June.
