NEWCASTLE and Crystal Palace are reportedly in advanced talks over the £70million transfer of Marc Guehi.
Palace have already rejected four bids for the centre-back, with the latest totalling £65m.
Marc Guehi’s future is set to be resolved in the next few days[/caption]However, the Daily Mail claims an agreement is now close.
Officials held another round of talks on Monday and Guehi‘s future is now expected to be resolved in the next 48 hours.
Should Crystal Palace accept Newcastle‘s next bid – which is expected to be around £70m – it will still be up to Guehi to make a decision and agree terms.
Guehi has been Eddie Howe‘s top transfer target this summer.
If he moves to St James’ Park, the centre-back will become Newcastle’s record signing.
The proposed move would also represent the biggest sale in Palace’s history.
Guehi was one of England‘s best players at Euro 2024.
He stepped into Gareth Southgate‘s starting line-up to replace Harry Maguire, who was ruled out of the tournament due to injury.

The centre-back started six games for England in Germany, missing just one due to a yellow card suspension.
Crystal Palace were braced for interest in Guehi following his outstanding Euro 2024 performances.
Eagles boss Oliver Glasner said: “He did great for England. Fantastic performances, very stable on a very high level. He was not a one-hit wonder at the Euros — all six games he played were a very high standard.
“I was not surprised that he can do this because I’ve watched him.
“But I was really surprised after his tough ending because he was injured for many months.
“Then playing this high rhythm on the highest level . . . I was really pleased to see this. Congrats to Marc that he could do it after the injury.”
Crystal Palace have lined up Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix as a replacement for Guehi.
The Eagles are also closing in on a deal for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
