NEWCASTLE have been dealt a major blow in their hopes of signing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
The Magpies have seen four bids for the England international rejected this summer.
Newcastle’s hopes of signing Marc Guehi have been dealt a massive blow[/caption] Crystal Palace have reportedly agreed a deal to sell Joachim Andersen to Fulham[/caption]Their chances of landing the 24-year-old are now in jeopardy after Palace reportedly agreed to sell his centre-back partner Joachim Andersen.
According to The Athletic, Fulham have agreed a deal with the Eagles for Andersen.
The clubs are finalising a move worth £30million including add-ons for the Danish defender to return to Craven Cottage.
Andersen previously spent the 2020/21 season with the club, making 31 appearances and scoring once as they were relegated to the Championship.
His performances earned him a move to Palace from Lyon, though, where he has since formed a partnership with Guehi.
The 28-year-old, who has two years remaining on his deal, has scored three goals in 113 appearances for the Eagles.
Those include Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Brentford in their opening Premier League match of the season, with Andersen playing the full 90 minutes.
He is now set to become Fulham’s fourth summer signing, however, following the arrivals of Emile Smith Rowe, Jorge Cuenca and Ryan Sessegnon.

Fulham also started their season with defeat, though, as they were narrowly beaten by Manchester United on Friday.
Andersen’s move could also have a knock-on effect to Eddie Howe’s transfer plans.
Newcastle had made Guehi their top defensive target this summer but have seen their four offers to date knocked back.
Howe was even linked with a shock move for Liverpool’s Joe Gomez as a potential alternative this week as he searches for a new centre-back.
It has been a frustrating window at St. James’ Park, with the free signing of Lloyd Kelly their most notable addition.
Lewis Hall’s loan from Chelsea has also been made permanent alongside the signings of Odysseas Vlachodimos, William Osula and John Ruddy.
