TYRELL Hatton is set to join LIV Golf later this week in a deal thought to be in excess of £50,000,000, according to reports.
England’s Hatton is the latest big name from the PGA Tour to defect after Jon Rahm joined the breakaway league earlier this month.
The Saudi-backed breakaway league, who shelled out a whopping £476million to land world No 3 Rahm.
And 32-year-old Hatton looks set to follow suit.
The 2023 Ryder Cup star is managed by former One Direction star Niall Horan’s Modest! Golf.
Hatton’s imminent defection would net the Mullingar native’s company a large windfall.
The global management and marketing company has offices in both LA and London and represents a wealth of talent across the major golf tours.
Hatton joined the company in 2019 and has won six times on the DP World Tour and once on the PGA Tour.
The deal with the PIF-backed Tour is set to be worth €58.6 million.
Horan’s company also represents DP World Tour star Guido Migliozzi and Irish LPGA Tour star Leona Maguire to name but a few.
Reports say the world number 16 Hatton could make his debut as soon as this week with LIV with the season opener getting underway on Friday in Mayakoba, Mexico.
The Englishman will be forced to withdraw from the AT&T Championship at Pebble Beach this week.
He was scheduled to compete in the PGA Tour ‘Signature’ event but that seems unlikely after a deal was reportedly reached with LIV.
Former Irish Open winner Adrian Meronk also defected last week to leave more questions about Team Europe’s 2025 Ryder Cup team.
