NORWICH are eyeing Grenoble ace Lenny Joseph as a potential replacement for Jonathan Rowe who could be on his way to Marseille.

Rowe, 21, is the latest player from English football to be targeted by L’OM, who have already signed Mason Greenwood, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Ismael Kone from Manchester United, Tottenham and Watford respectively.

The French giants were also keen on Arsenal ace Eddie Nketiah but a deal didn’t work out and the club instead got Elye Wahi from Lens.

SunSport understand negotiations between Marseille and Norwich are at an “advanced” stage.

Sources also suggest the Canaries are “anticipating” Rowe’s exit to France.

Thus, the winger could link up with former Manchester United player Greenwood in Roberto De Zerbi’s frontline at the Velodrome.

However, a deal has yet to be reached between the two sides for the England Under-21 international.

Nevertheless, Norwich are thinking ahead and are looking at potential alternatives to help in their bid to gain promotion back to the Premier League.

The Championship outfit are looking at Joseph, 23, who amassed four goals and six assists in 39 appearances with Grenoble last season.

The winger started this campaign on the right foot as he scored in the Ligue 2 outfit’s first match against Stade Lavallois and helped them win 2-1 on Friday.

However, Norwich are facing competition from Championship rivals Bristol City who are also keeping tabs on the Frenchman.

Rowe joined the Canaries’ academy in 2014 at the tender age of 11 years old.

The forward earned promotion to the senior squad in 2021 and quickly rose through the ranks.

Rowe shone bright last season as he amassed a stunning total of 13 goals and four assists in 38 appearances.

That is despite an injury that kept him sidelined for two months.
