Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ready to return to management as ex-Man Utd boss reveals challenge he’s looking for

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has revealed he is ready to return to management after leaving Manchester United in November 2021.

The former boss was sacked by United after his Old Trafford tenure unravelled following three years in charge.

Solskjaer, 50, admitted he needed a break after leaving the club as the scrutiny that came with managing such a big club put a lot of pressure on him.

But he is ready for the pressure of managing once again and revealed what time of challenge he is looking for.

He said: “I’ve got at least one club job in me. It has to be an interesting one, somewhere, an adventure, somewhere, I can be myself.

“No disrespect, but after you’ve managed Manchester United for three years, it’s like, where do you go?

“I want to feel that pressure again. You know, when you see the games, you miss it.”

Solskjaer has been searching for a new job since the beginning of the season but is yet to find the right project.

He was linked to Besiktas last month and revealed he rejected two offers from Saudi Arabia.

The Norwegian said previously: “I’ve had offers. Most recently, two from Saudi Arabia.

“My best mate, who is also my agent, sifts through them. If you’ve managed Man Utd, you put your own criteria about what you want to work with. I love England and the Premier League.

“Even the Championship feels stronger than ever, but I don’t feel bound to England. Maybe a different challenge where I need to experience a new culture and learn a new language.

“The DNA and identity of the club are important, a club where I can be the best me. It has to be a match. Maybe I made the wrong decision to go to Cardiff, for example, where there was a clash of identities and styles.

“What I miss most is working with good people, coming in every day, discussing football and putting a plan together for the next game. It’s not just about formations, but creating a culture where the staff enjoy their job and building a team together.”
