OLYMPIC legend Sir Mo Farah chased down phone thieves who snatched his device as he jogged with his wife through his multi-million-pound estate.

The four-time gold medalist sprinted after a van after his mobile was swiped from a path in the exclusive estate where he lives in Surrey.

Sir Mo, 41, had been jogging with Tania when he left his phone at the side of the private road in the gated community while he went for a run last week.

But just moments later the former 10,000 and 5,000-metre champion spotted a white van that looked out of place in the exclusive area.

The suspicious vehicle then pulled up so one of the two men inside could pick up the phone.

But as they tried to make their getaway Mo turned his “Olympic speed” to “full throttle” and managed to catch up with the van, according to the Mail on Sunday.

When the thieves realised they were being hunted by a sprinting hero, they handed the phone back to their victim before speeding off.

The runner, who retired earlier last September after finishing fourth in the Great North Run, is said to be angry over the security breach at the estate as it has 24-hour guards and barriers at the entrance.

An investigation into how the thieves got into the estate is now said to be underway.

During his career, Sir Mo won gold in both the 5,000 and 10,000 metres at the 2012 London Olympics then repeated his double-gold winning success in Rio in 2016.

He also has six world athletic championship titles and five European titles.
