MORITZ WESEMANN was handed a massive penalty after getting cold feet just seconds before his dive in this afternoon’s 3m springboard final.
The German, 22, was up against fierce competition at Paris’ Aquatics Centre.

He then made his move forward, bouncing twice before changing his mind.
Wesemann managed to gather himself, before sensationally turning around to start again.
To his credit, he was able to recover well.
The Team Germany star regained composure, before executing his dive well.
Wesemann was applauded by his team-mates watching on from the stands.
Nonetheless, he received a 2.0 penalty for his initial indiscretion.
This led to him scoring 57 for the round.

Wesemann came bottom of the 12-man field with a total score of 363.65.
There was British interest in the event, with Jack Laugher and Jordan Houlden involved.
Laugher, who has supported himself with a lucrative OnlyFans side hustle, was unable to medal – coming seventh with a score of 410.95.
Houlden, 26, fared a little better, scoring 427.75 to come fifth.
China’s incredible divers Xie Siyi and Wang Zongyuan earned gold and silver – with scores of 543.60 and 530.20.
Mexico’s Osmar Olvera earned the third place on the podium, grabbing bronze with a total of 500.40.
