THERE was a major opening ceremony blunder at the Paris Olympics after the iconic Games flag was raised upside down.
Hundreds of thousands of fans gathered to watch athletes make their way down the Seine on boats.
And despite the rain falling, spirits in the French capital were not dampened one bit.
Stars like Lady Gaga put on a fine performance as they entertained the masses.
But there was one major error caught live on TV.
As the Olympic flag was being raised, it quickly became clear there was an issue.
And as it turned out, the flag was amazingly upside down.
It was certainly a huge blunder from the hosts.
And fans reacted online to the incident in their masses.
One said: “Sums up the event.”

Another declared: “Years of prep, millions spent, and they fly it upside down.”
One noted: “I thought it looked weird.”
Another added: “Maybe they think they’re in Australia.”
It wasn’t the only blunder on the night.
There was another X-rated mistake from a performer after a dance routine.
As he posed in the background, the cameras revealed he had suffered a horrendous wardrobe malfunction.
The dancer’s shorts had managed to ride up his leg.
And he left himself exposed in scenes reminiscent of TV show The Inbetweeners.
