Players Championship 2024 prize money: How much will the winner earn at TPC Sawgrass?

ONE of the most lucrative events in golf, the Players Championship, is finally on our radars.

Golf‘s biggest supersstars will be battling it out in Florida for its 50th edition, each of them hoping to pick up the historic title.

With the trophy comes a huge cash prize as well, with this event being seen by some as the sport’s ‘fifth major’.

Scottie Scheffler won it all last year ahead of Tyrell Hatton in second. And both Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods have won it previously.

What is the Players Championship 2024 prize money?

The purse for the Players Championship is an absolutely huge $25million (£19.5m).

With a purse that large, 90 of the 144 players will take home at least $41,250 (£32,000).

The winner of it all, however, will take home a massive $4.5m (£3.5m).

Second place will win $2.7m (£2.1m), third will take home $1.7m (£1.3m) and fourth and fifth place will also have over $1m (£780,000) handed to them.

Where is it being played?

• TPC Sawgrass at Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida will host the tournament as usual.
• The Players Championship gets underway on Thursday, March 14.
• The final round will be held on Sunday, March 17.
