DO NOT take your eyes off this Champions League this season, its remarkable.

Five time winners Barcelona were 1-0 up, 2-1 down and eventually won this thriller 3-2 in the Parc des Princes.

Mind you what is a thriller anymore, we need another word because games like this are becoming the norm.

After Raphinha had put Barcelona ahead in the 37th minute PSG had an electric two minutes in the city of lights to turn things around.

The French champions had been a pretty sorry sight in the first period.

Then manager Luis Enrique, who won this competition as part of a treble in 2015 with last night’s opponents, inspired the Parisians into a revival.

It was just three minutes into the second half when Kylian Mbappe chased a lost cause to keep the ball alive and cut it back and there was Ousmane Dembele to release a rocket into the roof of the net.

Just a couple of minutes later Fabian Ruiz powered forward and found Vitinha who fired past Marc-Andre ter Stegen into the far corner.

An incredible turn around after Brazilian international Raphinha had put the visitors in control.

Robert Lewandowski broke down the middle of the pitch and fed 16 year-old Lamine Yamal.

His cross was palmed out by Gianluigi Donnarumma and Raphinha was waiting to despatch the loose ball home.

PSG, in control now, or so a bouncing Parc des Princes thought.

Pedri was brought into the action on the hour and two minutes later produced a brilliant pass forward for Raphinha to grab his second of the night with a fine volley.

Then another super sub came into the action as Andreas Christensen entered the fray and in the blink of an eye grabbed the 77th minute winner.

Ilkay Gundogan swung over the corner and Christensen’s head emerged from a packed six yard box to head home. Wow.

It was the first time since April 2015 that Barca have scored three away from home in the Champions League, also against PSG.

That was the last time they also won this competition.

But while we mull over whether it will be Manchester City who will defend it or Arsenal who grab it for the first time, the Spanish giants are there.

They were certainly there last night in the Parc des Princes against a French side who have chucked millions at trying to win this prize but have got close only once.

That was in 2019-20 when they lost 1-0 in the final to Bayern Munich.

Perhaps the lack of competition in their own league always lets them down when they have to take a step up.

They are currently ten points clear as they head towards as tenth title in 12 seasons.

Still who knows what is still to come in club football’s greatest club competition. All to play for.
