A report on sanspo.com references an announcement from the Japanese Racing Assocaition confirming the colt’s death.

Ask Victor More was trained by Yasuhito Tamura and was last seen finishing six-and-three-quarter lengths behind the all-conquering Equinox in June.

He was a son of the legendary Deep Impact and announced himself a superstar when seeing off Do Deuce on debut in a Group 2 in March last year.

One heartbroken punter asked ‘how does this happen?’ after hearing of Ask Victor More’s death.

Another said: “Oh dear. RIP Ask Victor More.”
