There will a new race roughly every three minutes, with a whole host of top class names on show.

On the busiest day in the sporting calendar, it is the blockbuster King George at Kempton that takes centre stage.

That huge Grade 1 starts at 2.30pm and will be shown live on ITV1 and Racing TV.

But the racing from UK and Ireland gets underway well before that with a humble maiden hurdle at Down Royal kicking things off at 11.40am.

Five minutes later, Sedgefield starts its seven-race card, then at 11.52 it’s over to Wetherby for their opener.

At 11.55 the cameras will start rolling for Aintree’s meeting, which includes the Grade 1 Formby Novices’ Hurdle (formerly the Tolworth) at 1.05pm.

Two minutes after Aintree gets underway it is the turn of Fontwell at 11.57am, while Leopardstown kicks things off at midday.

At 12.05 Market Rasen start their seven-race card while there is a 13-minute break until Wincanton gets underway.

Some eight minutes later the action from Limerick begins and at 12.45 Kempton starts with a novices’ handicap chase.

Don’t let the 1hr 5min gap until racing starts at Wolverhampton fool you though.

In that time there will be two races each run at Down Royal, Sedgefield, Wetherby, Aintree, Fontwell, Leopardstown, Market Rasen, Wincanton and Limerick – plus one at Kempton.

If ever there was a day to bet responsibly and pick your targets carefully, this is it!

Still, punters were loving the fixture list and the chance to see a load of top horses on show.

One said: “Boxing Day is unrivaled! Not any old racing either, some of the best racing of the jumps season!”

While another wrote: “Boxing Day racing is the best day of the year.”

Sun Racing has cherry picked the best of the action over the festive period in our brilliant guide.

The action hots up in Ireland after Kempton, with Gold Cup hero Galopin Des Champs all set to return in the Savills Chase on December 28.

Templegate and Matt Chapman will bring you all their big tips too.
