Having arrived for £72million from Atalanta in the summer, Hojlund failed to score in his first 14 Premier League outings.

He has put those struggles behind him, however, netting in each of his last four games.

With Hojlund having silenced his critics, Man Utd fans feel that they may just have found their long-term solution up front.

During a recent chat with United fan Mark Goldbridge, Hojlund revealed that he most enjoys playing on his PlayStation during his free time.

Goldbridge then lifted the lid on his career mode, in which he admitted that he’d had to buy Hojlund back, as he initially left for Tottenham due to a mystery release clause.

The YouTuber then sought reassurances that the clause does not actually exist.

Hojlund responded by sheepishly laughing.

And in good news for United fans, the boyhood supporter then said: “No.”

The in-form star was also asked to name his all-time Red Devils five-aside team.

To avoid any awkwardness with his team-mates, Hojlund was told to exclude current United players.

He began by picking his compatriot Peter Schmeichel, who famously helped his country win Euro 1992.

Hojlund then plumped for Rio Ferdinand at the back, with Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs in the engine room – and his “idol” up front.

He explained to The United Stand: “I need to put Peter in goal. Peter is Danish.

“Peter won everything here. Peter is a legend here but is also a legend in Denmark because he won the Euros for us.

“I need to put Rio in there because he’s very memorable to me. I would love to put Vidic in there, but I can only have one defender.

“I want to put Ryan Giggs in there, Paul Scholes and then Cristiano Ronaldo up front.”
