Rasmus Hojlund transfer news: Man Utd favourites for striker despite PSG bid

RASMUM HOJLUND is a wanted man.

And Manchester United are the current leading candidates to clinch his signature this summer, with Betfair pricing them at 1/9 to sign the exciting Atalanta centre-forward.

But they aren’t the only ones. In fact, several European heavyweights have all showed interest in the Denmark international, with PSG having also made a formal bid.

The Parisians are on the lookout for a new striker to replace wantaway man Kylian Mbappe, who the club say will be sold this summer.

They launched a £42.6million bid to sign Hojlund – lower than the bid United placed which was subsequently rejected – and are next best at 5/2 to sign him.

Bayern Munich come next at huge odds of 20/1, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona amongst a number of elite European clubs at 25/1.

Hojlund has emerged as one of the brightest stars in world football.

The 20-year-old made waves last season in Italy with nine goals and four assists in 32 Serie A appearances for Atalanta.

He’s also proven himself at international level when scoring a hat-trick on his Denmark debut last month before bagging another two in the following match.

Despite the short odds, the race for his services is well and truly on.

But Atalanta are in the driving seat when it comes to negotiations and valuations with the player contracted until June 2027.

Erik ten Hag’s side are crying out for a striker with Anthony Martial struggling to stay fit and Wout Weghorst’s loan expiring.
