The Austrian grappler has beaten some of the world’s greatest professional wrestlers, such as Sheamus, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rey Mysterio and British legend Drew McIntyre.

The 36-year-old also won the Intercontinental Championship in June 2022 when he beat Ricochet.

And Gunther has held on to the title ever since as he went on to beat The Honky Tonk Man’s record for longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time.

But the greatest moment seems to have taken place in the holidays when the heavyweight athlete and his wife Jinny welcomed their first child.

The wrestling couple took to social media where they shared a picture of their baby boy shortly after the birth.

Jinny held him in her arms while the Imperium leader stood over them with big smiles on their faces.

Gunther tweeted: “This morning our son entered the world. What a blessing.”

Jinny was also a wrestler and met Gunther during their time in the independent circuit before they both moved to NXT UK.

The Londoner, though, didn’t follow her husband, whom she married earlier this year in the UK, to WWE‘s main roster.

That is because she announced her retirement from wrestling in January due to injuries.

Gunther is now gearing up for Day 1 where he could defend his Intercontinental Championship on New Year’s Day.

The longest-reigning NXT UK Champion of all time will then prepare for the Royal Rumble after an impeccable performance last season.

Gunther lasted a record one hour, 11 minutes and 40 seconds in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, beating Rey Mysterio’s record from 2006.
