ROY KEANE has hilariously revealed he was once BANNED from a Manchester United Christmas party.
That’s after falling foul of Sir Alex Ferguson, who sent out a brutal warning to the rest of the dressing room.
Ferguson did not appreciate Keane’s night out[/caption]Keane, 52, starred for United for 12 years until his departure in 2005 following a bust-up with Fergie.
The Irishman eventually became skipper as he helped United win seven titles, four FA Cups and a Champions League.
But Keane’s initial run-ins with Fergie started much earlier, with the ex-midfielder made to hold his own Christmas do one year.
Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Keane revealed how he went out with United’s reserves for a night on the tiles.
But after some trouble occurred, Keane ended up getting the blame from Fergie.
The no-nonsense Scot warned Keane’s team-mates that anyone seen having a drink with him would be fined.
It meant Keane was effectively barred from United’s Christmas party.
And he ended up having his own festive bash by himself.

Keane told Gary Neville, Jill Scott, Ian Wright and Jamie Carragher: “I got banned from the Manchester United Christmas party one year.
“I must’ve been injured, and the reserve team were having a night out and I went out with them and I think there was a bit of bother in Manchester.
“The first team lads were going out a couple days later and Sir Alex Ferguson came in, in front of everyone, and said that if anyone was seen drinking with me that day, they would get fined.
“The players were worried about getting fined by the manager, so I ended up going out by myself – I had a Christmas party by myself.”
