RYAN REYNOLDS has revealed there’s been “all kinds of weird and unexpected horrors” since his “incredibly stressful” takeover of Wrexham.

The Hollywood superstar and pal Rob McElhenney joined forces to buy the Welsh club in 2021.

Wrexham fans have since enjoyed an incredible rise, winning last season’s National League title before soaring to fourth place in the current League Two campaign.

Supporters are now dreaming of back-to-back promotions to League One.

But Reynolds has now revealed that it hasn’t been all fun and games behind the scenes.

The Deadpool star has signed off on numerous expensive deals, including two new signings on deadline day last week.

Reynolds has also previously complained about the red tape surrounding Wrexham’s new training ground and stadium expansion.

But after falling in love with the beautiful game, Reynolds admits Wrexham is “part of my DNA”, while the experience is the “greatest of my life.”

He told the Yours, Mine, Away podcast: “I say this without any spin. It’s the greatest experience of my life, and it’s filled with all kinds of weird and unexpected horrors, but it’s the greatest.

“It’s just being part of something and the fact that Rob and I were welcomed in by these unblinking and uncynical arms is something I will never forget. It’s part of my DNA now.

“What I think I love most is when you go to the stadium, the stadium now has 12,400 people in it, with the temporary Kop, and I recognise a lot of them.

“If you saw the amount of emails and texts I wake up to every day that are just about Wrexham business, it just never ends. It’s incredibly stressful.

“But we are constantly talking about the staff, ways to improve, ways to grow this club, ways to connect the club with the community even more.

“So when I walk in the dressing room, I’m a little geeked out too. If that was a drug, we’d all be a mess.”
