But they face a fight with Bristol Rovers, who are also keen.

Despite his impressive goal output, Clarke-Harris will be sold by Peterborough.

Posh will cash in even though they are still firmly involved in the chase for a League One promotion spot.

They are currently third in the third tier, just two points behind second-placed Bolton and four off top dogs Portsmouth.

Clarke-Harris was sold by Peterborough to Coventry back in 2018.

He scored five times in 27 appearances for the Sky Blues before he headed to Bristol Rovers a year later.

He bagged 24 in 42 games for them before Peterborough brought him back to London Road in 2020.

Clarke-Harris got 29 goals last term for Posh and has fired ten in 24 outings so far this campaign.

Now Wrexham’s Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are hoping that they can secure his services and convince him to drop down a division in order to try and fire them to promotion.

The Welsh side currently occupy a place in the League Two promotion places.

They are third on 46 points, five behind leaders Stockport County.

But Bristol Rovers and Charlton, who are both still hoping to launch a push for a play-off place in League One, are ready to battle them all the way for the hotshot.
