Said Benrahma’s Lyon transfer ‘HIJACKED’ at last-minute by Premier League rivals after plane ‘booked’ for France move

FULHAM are trying to hijack Lyon’s move for West Ham star Said Benrahma.

The winger had his medical booked with the Ligue Un club before Fulham’s last-gasp swoop.

A private jet has even been arranged for Benrahma to fly to the south of France.

Lyon had agreed to sign the winger on loan for the rest of the season.

The deal includes an option to make the switch permanent for £15million.

But Fulham could put a spanner in the works with a last-ditch bid to sign the Algerian.

And the Cottagers could be set to deliver another blow to Lyon by signing highly-rated star Rayan Cherki.

It is claimed Lyon could sell him for £30m – which would beat the £25m record outlay Fulham paid Nice for Jean Michael Seri in 2018.

Benrahma has also attracted interest from Saudi Arabia as well as Marseille and former club Brentford.

Benrahma joined West Ham in a £25m transfer from Bees in 2021 and has since made 155 appearances for David Moyes’ side.

Moyes wants to bolster his attacking options but needs to raise funds in order to do so.

The Hammers have targeted Al-Ittihad winger Jota and are in talks over an 18-month loan deal for the former Celtic man, though it is not clear whether a deal will be struck before the 11pm deadline.
