Jurgen Klopp has already lost two of his key men to Saudi Arabia this summer window.

Club captain Jordan Henderson completed his controversial switch to Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq, while fellow midfielder Fabinho has joined Al-Ittihad.

However, one of their title rivals could now also be set to face a huge fight to hang on to one of their most influential players.

Reports have emerged that Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne is the next star that the Middle East have their eyes on.

Winger Riyad Mahrez has already departed the Etihad this summer after he sealed a £30m switch to Al-Ahli with boss Pep Guardiola admitting the Algerian had received an offer he could not refuse.

And now the Daily Mirror has claimed that De Bruyne is one of the men that Saudi club Al-Ittihad have their sights set on.

They state that next summer is when they are plotting to swoop for the 32-year-old Belgian playmaker.

The reigning champions of the Middle East country have already snapped up Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Jota.

But concern will be mounting at City and the rest of their top-flight challengers over the coming weeks.

The Saudi transfer window will remain open until September 20 – 19 days after the Premier League one closes.

And that leaves our English clubs in the vulnerable position of losing players and not being unable to replace them until January.

De Bruyne signed a bumper new four-year deal worth over £300,000-a-week back in 2021.
