Scary moment snooker fan collapses live on BBC during World Championship coverage

A SNOOKER fan collapsed at the Crucible ahead of Ronnie O’Sullivan’s quarter-final.

Temperatures have soared across the country this week and the sun was shining on Sheffield in the third week of the World Snooker Championship.

One fan appeared to be struggling in the heat and collapsed live on TV.

The individual was watching on in the Winter Gardens as BBC presenter Abigail Davis interviewed two female snooker players – Daisy May Oliver and Hannah Jones.

Cameras caught the moment the spectator fell ill, collapsing in a crowd of other snooker fans.

BBC host Hazel Irvine later shared an update confirming the fan was feeling better after receiving a glass of water.

She said: “A gentleman fainted, he’s absolutely fine.

“Just a wee bit dehydrated. He’s now been given a very large glass of water and an ice cream.

“Everything is A-OK.”

The incident occurred before the third and fourth quarter-finals took place.

O’Sullivan takes on Si Jiahui and won the opening frame against the former World Snooker Championship semi-finalist.

While world No1 Judd Trump faces 2023 tournament winner Luca Brecel.
