Depicting a life-sized Kane sitting on a bench, it had initially been planned to live at Chingford Overground Station, where the striker was brought up.

Following a risk assessment by Transport for London, however, the plan was thwarted.

Funding for the statue was initially approved by Conservative councillors for Chingford’s Endlebury ward, Emma Best and Roy Berg.

According to the BBC, further proposals were made to have the statue installed at nearby Ridgeway Park.

But these plans were scrapped twice scrapped, with the reasons for doing so having not been made public.

Best, 32, told the Beeb that she spent “hours and hours” trying to find the statue of Kane a new home.

The England captain left boyhood club Tottenham to join Bayern Munich last summer in a £104million deal.

Asked about the possibility of a statue at Spurs by Sky Sports last year, he said: “A statue is a statue, it’s not something that’s going to make or break my career.”

A spokesperson for Kane, however, hopes that Waltham Forest Council’s statue can be revealed in the “coming months”.

They added: “Especially with Harry being England and Tottenham’s all time top goal scorer. It is what he deserves.

“The location of the statue is really important to us and like Emma said we are having some issues at the moment, but when we get it right, we will be happy to go.”

Kane has been red-hot since leaving the Premier League for Germany.

He has scored 29 goals for Bayern, including 25 in 22 Bundesliga appearances.

Results haven’t followed, however, with the German champions having lost three games in a row.

With Bayern having fallen eight points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the title race it was today confirmed that manager Thomas Tuchel will leave at the end of the season.
