SIMONE Biles showed why she’s one of the stars of the Paris Olympics with a stunning performance on Sunday.

The US gymnast, 27, shrugged off her Tokyo disappointment three years ago to put on a flawless showing despite carrying an injury.

She was the class of the field in women’s qualifying, helping Team USA to qualify for the team final.

Biles put on an electric performance in front of celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Snoop Dogg and Ariana Grande.

The 27-year-old landed the Biles II vault, the Yurchenko double pike, and a score of 15.800.

She became the first woman to land the vault in Olympic competition.

And, according to Eurosport, her triple flip was the first to ever be completed in competition.

Biles did all that on Sunday despite struggling with a calf injury.

She was seen with a slight limp on television cameras.

Fans marveled as they watched her amazing performance at the Bercy Arena.

“Simone Biles the greatest,” one said.

Another commented, “The Biles II. She’s the GOAT. So happy to see her shine after her struggles in Tokyo.”

While a third simply wrote, “Insane.”

And a fourth posted, “Simply the best.”

Biles won four Olympic gold medals in Rio eight years ago but had a very tough time in Tokyo last time out.

She traveled to Tokyo three years ago and suffered some mishaps during qualification.

Biles then withdrew from four events for mental health reasons.

'Mother hen' Biles

Simone Biles' first coach Aimee Boorman exclusively told The U.S. Sun that she thinks Biles will be spurred by a new role this year.

“Having younger teammates benefits her because she has stepped in as the mother hen figure,” said Aimee.

“And so she has to tell them to stay calm. You’ve got this. You’re prepared. And so as she’s saying it, she’s also hearing it.

“You always have tiny kids that come into the gym, but they’re never ripped like Simone was,” she said.

“I know she was very self-conscious about it growing up. But from a coaching perspective, it was great.

“I didn’t think that Simone would be a multi gold medal athlete straight away.

“But she did stand out because she was very tiny, but very muscular.”

The 27-year-old took some time away from the sport but came back in 2023.

She won four world championship golds and is working with a therapist now, and said she’s very happy with where she is now mentally and physically.

And that showed in her performance on Sunday during gymnastics qualifying.

The women’s team final is set for Tuesday while the individual events will be from Thursday through to the following Monday, August 5.

The 27-year-old missed Friday’s opening ceremony on the River Seine to prepare for competition, and her decision looks to have paid off.
