Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s first two Man Utd transfer targets revealed as Ineos chief adopts ‘new strategy’

SIR JIM RATCLIFFE is planning on making big changes at Old Trafford following his 25 per cent takeover.

The British billionaire is reportedly planning on taking Manchester United in a new direction and that includes the addition of two Premier League stars.

According to iNews, Ratcliffe’s Ineos team intend to make data a huge diving force behind the club’s recruitment going forward.

Ratcliffe and his team are already set to take over football operations at Man Utd when his £1.3billion deal is ratified by the Premier League – which is expected to be confirmed later this month.

Data has been a huge part of the the way Ineos is run, including the company’s cycling team as well as their control of French outfit OCG Nice.

And it is reported that Ineos director of sport Sir Dave Brailsford has been left impressed by the brains on hand at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are said to be keen on shifting the age profile of the signings they make, alongside their data driven scouting.

It is reported that Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, 21, and Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, 22, are on the club’s radar for the summer.

Branthwaite has been attracting a lot of interest this season after stepping up to be a regular starter for Sean Dyche’s Toffees.

Meanwhile Olise looked set to sign for Chelsea in the summer before signing a new deal at Selhurt Park instead.

Ratcliffe’s new-look recruitment strategy will reportedly see much less heavy involvement from United gaffer Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman has played a huge role in the signings brought to Old Trafford since his arrival inducing the addition Lisandro Martinez, Andre Onana and Antony – all of which he previously managed at Ajax.

Ratcliffe is looking to make changes off the pitch too with the 71-year-old pledging £237m towards the club’s infrastructure as part of his takeover deal.

That could include the development of a brand new £2billion stadium to replace the decaying Old Trafford.
