Melissa began by discussing the cold weather in Manchester, revealing both she and Neville were wrapped up warm.

Neville showed he had every inch of skin covered up by lifting up his leg to show off the bottom of his trousers and his socks.

But in doing so the Manchester United legend lost his balance and almost fell over – while Melissa somehow maintained her composure and avoided laughing at her colleague.

She later shared the clip on Instagram alongside the caption: “Five layers ✅Gloves ✅Heated socks ✅Another 💥 game ✅

“Plus never a dull pitchside moment with Gary Neville even though I have no idea what he was doing at the end of slide 5 😂🤣

The Sky Sports team also fooled around at the Etihad last week as Neville apologised for his colleagues’ behaviour.

His interview was interrupted by a shriek from a fellow pundit, and Neville responded saying: “Sorry, that’s Carragher, Micah Richards and Daniel Sturridge.

“I just can’t laugh like that at any point in my life. These three seem to laugh… it’s incredible.”

“Just pan the camera round to these muppets over here, please.”

The camera then swivelled to show Carragher, Richards and Sturridge preparing for Sky Sports’ live coverage of the game.

And Neville finished the funny segment by simply adding: “Just look at them.”
