FANS have claimed that Jadon Sancho “actually won” as he fired a sly dig at Erik Ten Hag.

The 23-year-old returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan until the summer from Manchester United to temporarily end his Old Trafford exile.

The Bundesliga side have paid around £3m for the deal, which could rise to £3.4m if certain performance-based clauses are met, with the Red Devils reportedly still picking up £100,000 of his weekly £290k salary while he is in Germany.

Sancho, who joined United from Dortmund for £73m in July 2021, remains under contract at the Premier League side until 2026 and there is believed to be no option to buy included in this deal.

The England international, who received a warm welcome back at Dortmund yesterday, was outcasted after a stand-off erupted when he was left out of the squad for September’s 3-1 loss at Arsenal.

United boss Ten Hag said his training was not up to standard when quizzed on his absence after that match, only for Sancho to post on social media in response: “I will not allow people saying things that are completely untrue, I conducted myself in training very well this week.”

Even though he deleted the post, Ten Hag called for an apology that never came.

Sancho was then axed from United’s WhatsApp group after already being barred from training with the senior side or using any of their facilities as both staff and team-mates urged him to back down but he refused.

After completing his switch on Thursday to the team he spent four years at and scored 50 goals in 137 games for the attacker then caused a stir on social media after a video showed him saying “sorry” TWICE in a matter of seconds during his medical – but it was not to Ten Hag.

He also infuriated United fans with the first thing he did after sealing his return.

Now he appears to have twisted the knife further before firing a shot at Ten Hag on X, formerly known as Twitter in his third post inside 24 hours following five month period of silence online.

Sancho posted a snap of himself in his Dortmund attire with a huge grin on his face from training, and he captioned it with a smiling emoji and the words: “Good to be back on the pitch.”

That led to an influx of responses from fans, with one writing: “Sancho actually won.”

“Flex baba,” responded another as a third commented: “You own Ten Hag.”

And a fourth even added that he was now “free from prison”.

Sancho could make his debut for Dortmund when they resume action after the winter break when they travel to SV Darmstadt in the Bundesliga tomorrow.

They are currently fifth in the league, 15 points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
