ALI CARTER was criticised by fans after initially refusing to accept his Masters runners-up medal.
The snooker star was beaten 10-7 in the final of the Masters by legend Ronnie O’Sullivan.

GettyCarter, who has never won a snooker major, led 5-3 after the afternoon session but some poor potting handed the initiative to The Rocket in the evening’s play.
O’Sullivan won the last four frames to seal victory and keep his hopes of a £1million Ronnie Slam alive as he chases perfection in the snooker Triple Crowns this season, having already won the UK Championship.
For Carter it is back to the drawing board and his disappointment was clear for all to see inside Ally Pally.
The world number ten was presented with his runner-up medal by World Snooker Tour chairman Steve Dawson, but took it in his hand after refusing to allow Dawson to drape in round his neck.
Some fans felt he was a sore loser while others accepted it was a tough loss for Carter to take.
One said: “Bad loser. He came second and won a lot of money from the man about to put it around his neck. Not hard for somebody to deal with and if he can’t then he should take a hard look at his attitude.”
Another added in agreement: “Cannot stand footy players/teams that refuse or take off their runner-up medals either. Bad attitude.”
But one viewer shared a different view, writing: “Don’t blame him, he wanted a major and lost it – good to see he was gutted and just didn’t accept it.”

And another commented: “Could it be he doesn’t want someone to put a losers medal around his neck?”
O’Sullivan now has eight Masters titles to his name, taking his overall major wins to 23.
He is also the oldest player to win the tournament at 48-years-old and the youngest – a record he also holds in the UK Championship.
