MARK ALLEN was left in a state of shock after John Higgins’ “crazy shot” in their clash today.
The two were competing in a thrilling opening encounter of today’s Welsh Open quarter finals in Llandudno.

Allen looked visibly shocked at the “Wizard of Wishaw’s” brilliance and nodded his way in approval.
But not everyone was convinced that the shot was a moment of genius.
The commentator said: “So in the end Higgins flukes the final red but in truth, the frame was already won.
“Mark Allen needed three snookers, a very tall order and he couldn’t get them and John Higgins is back in front to lead 3-2.”
It was all downhill for Allen from there, as Higgins romped to a 5-2 victory.
The Scot racked up four half-century breaks on his way to victory, including a 131 in the second frame on the way to the dominant win.
Allen has been nursing a shoulder problem and admitted that he came close to withdrawing two days before the start of the tournament.

Despite this, he cruised through the previous round against Ma Hailong as he cruised to victory.
But the experienced Higgins proved too much for Allen and it’s the Scot that will be advancing to the semi-finals.
Higgins, who is aiming to win his first ranking title in three years, will take on the winner of Gary Wilson and Anthony McGill in the final four.
