‘Spiteful, dirty, nasty’ – Luke Littler sends Sky Sports commentator into meltdown during World Darts final

LUKE LITTLER sent Sky Sports commentator Wayne Mardle into a meltdown during the World Darts Championship final.

Luke the Nuke had pulses racing as he put on a show against Luke Humphries in the final at Ally Pally.

And during the seventh set the 16-year-old sensation checked out with 122 left on the board to level up the legs to 2-2.

Littler turned away from the board and celebrated with a steely face as he walked past Humphries ready for his next throw.

The superb showing of darts followed by the celebration left Mardle in awe and he produced a superb piece of commentary to match.

He said: “That could be the one! That could be the one that breaks the number one’s [Luke Humphries] heart.

“Look at his face. Look at his face!

“That was just spiteful, that was dirty, that was nasty. That was everything that Luke Littler wanted to do.”

Littler gave a valiant effort to try and win the World Darts Championship but in end suffered heartbreak at the hands of Humphries.

The world number one walked away with the Sid Waddell Trophy and £500,000 in his pocket as well after a 7-4 win on sets.

Fans up and down the country had been following Littler’s epic journey as the new kid on the block.

And he can hold his head up high despite falling at the last hurdle.

Regardless of being unable to win when it mattered most he will still take home £200,000 and be remembered by all those who watched on – including some famous faces.

David Beckham’s son Romeo was amongst the fans with his girlfriend Mia Regan while Spurs star James Maddison and boxer Derek Chisora were also spotted in Ally Pally.
