The oche expert pointed out that the last two Grand Slam winners have gone on to become world champions weeks later.

That’s Michael Smith in 2022 and Luke Humphries last year – via a thrilling final victory over Littler.

The teen hero from Warrington has now scooped 10 titles in 11 months, including the the Premier League and World Series Finals successes.

Littler racked up more mindboggling figures in Wolverhampton over the past week.

He averaged 107.08 and landed 12 maximums in recovering from 2-0 down to destroy Lukeman and soar to No 5 in the world rankings

Over the whole tournament Littler amassed 60 180s and 10 ton-plus checkouts.

A third wrote: “15 in a row is just foul – generational darts player.
