Supercomputer predicts Premier League winners after Man Utd dent Liverpool hopes with just one point separating 3 clubs

A SUPERCOMPUTER has predicted who will win the Premier League’s three-horse title race after Liverpool dropped two points in a frustrating draw with rivals Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp said his side “controlled” the 2-2 draw, but they lost control of the Premier League table with the result leaving Arsenal at the summit with seven games left to play.

The Gunners breezed past Brighton 3-0 while Manchester City also looked comfortable during a 4-2 away win over Crystal Palace.

It seems too difficult to predict who will be lifting the trophy come May, with just a point now separating the top three sides.

But the brain boxes at bettingexpert.com have gone a long way to trying to predict who will end the season top of the table by letting their supercomputer BETSiE take a swing at the final standings.

The supercomputer simulates the remaining fixtures for all teams 100,000 TIMES using multiple data points to best predict the outcome of the rest of the season.

And after doing all of that the computer has predicted that the three title challengers will be separated by just TWO POINTS, with the champions taking home the trophy on goal difference.

According to their simulation Arsenal will win their first Premier League title in 20 years thanks to Liverpool’s slip-up at Old Trafford.

The prediction has Liverpool level on points with Arsenal at the end of the season, but with a goal difference that is ten less than the London club, who have been scoring for fun since the turn of the year.

Manchester City are expected to be two points behind their competitors with Pep Guardiola’s side, who are currently a point behind the other two, unable to make up any ground in the remaining seven fixtures.

City still have a 17.3 per cent chance of winning a fourth consecutive title though and fans shouldn’t write them off.

Liverpool have been handed a 30.3 per cent chance of giving Klopp a dream send-off while Arsenal fans will be encouraged by the news that they have a 52.3 per cent chance of finishing top.

Tottenham are predicted to complete the top four while Aston Villa, Man Utd and Newcastle sit behind them in the remaining European spots in the simulated table.

Chelsea finish eighth in the supercomputer standings meaning they have an outside chance at European football should the Premier League be handed another spot in European competition by Uefa.

Down at the other end of the table it’s grim reading for the three promoted clubs with an immediate return to the Championship expected.

Sheffield United are unsurprisingly predicted to finish rock bottom while Burnley are just ahead of them in 19th.

Luton will be the closest to survival with the Hatters predicted to earn 31 points and miss out on staying afloat by just three points.

Nottingham Forest’s 34 points will be just enough to keep them away from the drop despite their points deduction earlier in the season.

And Everton fans may think that their expected 38 points should be plenty to keep them in the Premier League so long as they aren’t slapped with a second deduction of more than six points.
