Templegate’s Jacques Le Marois tip and 1-2-3 prediction after jocking off controversy

4 months ago 44

THE talk all week has been about Kieran Shoemark losing the ride on Jacques Le Marois favourite Inspiral.

Owners Cheveley Park Stud have opted, understandably, to go for Ryan Moore, with Aidan O’Brien’s No1 man a handy spare.

But will the mare make it a hat-trick in Deauville after two disappointing defeats this season?

The Group 1 (3.04 Sunday, At The Races) looks an absolute cracker on paper.

Here’s Templegate’s verdict and 1-2-3 prediction.

CHARYN has been brilliant this season and can add the Prix Jacques Le Marois to his trophy cabinet.

He kicked off the season winning a Doncaster Listed contest before stepping up to take the Group 2 Bet365 Mile at Sandown.

That earned Roger Varian’s colt another tilt at the highest level and he ran a great race when second in the Lockinge at Newbury ahead of Inspiral before taking his form to a new level when winning the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot.

That proved his liking for fast ground too but soft is right up his street so conditions at Deauville won’t be an issue. There could even be improvement to come.

Inspiral has a little to prove now after two flat efforts this season but the booking of Ryan Moore is a major plus.

The Gosden mare finished last season winning at the Breeders’ Cup over 1m2f but this has always been her trip, including when taking this race 12 months ago.

The ground may be an issue as most of her wins have come in quick conditions.

Big Rock will be happy with some give in the ground after two poor efforts in Britain this season on quicker.

He was an easy winner of the QEII Stakes at Ascot on soft last October and a repeat of that effort would bring him right into this.

Quddwah did well to land the Group 2 Summer Mile at Ascot last month and could improve with few miles on the clock, while Haatem won a right ding-dong for the Jersey Stakes.

He can’t be ignored coming here after a nice little break.

2nd Inspiral
3rd Big Rock
