Simply pick your seven horses with your 10,000 guinea budget – just like you would in fantasy football.

Make sure you select your boosts – it’s two times the points for the stable star and you can get a placing bump under the ‘stewards enquiry’.

The top 25 per cent of players make profit and the winner scoops the jackpot.

Fantasy is a paid pool much like a Placepot or a Scoop6, however the way you win is entirely unique and based on how you do vs the other players.

You don’t need to pick all seven winners, you just need to do better than others in the pool – first prize could be won with just two winners.

Templegate’s Tote Fantasy team

  • 1.15 HAYDOCK: Park Annonciade 750
  • 1.30 ASCOT: Pic D’Orhy 2,500
  • 1.50 HAYDOCK: Apple Away 2,500
  • 2.05 ASCOT: Theatre Glory 1,750
  • 3.00 HAYDOCK: Royal Pagaille 750
  • 3.15 ASCOT: Aucunrisque 750

The challenge of this game is to pick as many of your fancies as you can without blowing the budget. For me, that means swerving the big two in the Betfair Chase and hoping ROYALE PAGAILLE’s good record at Haydock can take him close.

I kick off with PARK ANNONCIADE in Haydock’s 1.15 who I think looks solid to make the frame and, at the prices, PIC D’ORHY makes more sense than Shishkin in Ascot’s classiest contest at 1.30.

I can afford my first choice THEATRE GLORY in the 2.05 at Ascot while I rate the chances of relative outsider LORD SNOOTIE in Haydock’s 2.20.

I would love to have Boothill in Ascot’s 3.15 but I’ve run out of budget so I am trusting AUCUNRISQUE to run his usual exuberant race and finish near the front.
