CHRIS EUBANK JR and Conor Benn had to be stopped from sharing the same lift during their explosive Manchester media day.
Chaos erupted during the first leg of their two-stop UK press tour on Tuesday, in which Eubank Jr slapped Benn with an egg.

X@MATCHROOMBOXINGTensions were high before the fiery press conference, so much so that security stopped the duo from sharing a lift at the Central Convention Complex.
Security hastily stopped Benn, who was with his dad Nigel, from getting up and close and personal with Eubank Jr after the lift stopped on the floor the veteran was waiting on.
A fired-up Benn shouted at his rival: “You look stupid in that outfit!”
Eubank Jr cracked a wry smile before saying: “Let’s jump in.”
His eagerness to get into the lift visibly irked Benn, who said: “Oh shut up, Chris. [You’re] talking s**t.”
“Shut up, [you’re] talking s**t!”
Benn ended the unexpected encounter with a chilling threat to the IBO middleweight champion, roaring: “You won’t make it out!”
Footage of the exchange went viral, with boxing fan saying: “He’s such a wind-up.”
Another said: “This is some drama.”
And another said: “I can’t wait to see this. Gotta be the most entertaining build-up to a fight I’ve ever seen lol.”
One remarked: “Let’s jump in proper wind-up merchant, Chris.”
Another chimed in: “Yeah the security are gonna hate these two. They’re gonna be busy.”
Eubank Jr’s use of an egg to slap Benn was a reference to his rival’s claim that his pair of failed drug tests that scuppered the 2022 meeting was the result of his ingestion of contaminated eggs.
He wrote on X: “Apparently egg contamination was the reason for his two failed drugs tests. So I contaminated him with an egg.”
The viral scuffle has led to the cancellation of Thursday evening’s face-off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
